I'm pretty sure Merlin had one, he should be on later to answer your question.

I don't recommend the foggers unless they are outside of the tank or completely concealed behind something, a rock wall for example. Although uncommon, but has happened, the animals can come into contact with the discharge from the mister, which is tiny water crystals broken up by ultrasonic waves, if you touch the discharge it feels like an electrical shock, it isn't, but can still temporarily paralyze your animal and eventually fry your animal to death.
Your best bet is a sunbeam brand ultrasonic room humidifier. About 35$ at walgreens and then you would need to plumb it in, if you go that way tell me and I'll help you out.

How do the ultrasonic ones work compared tp the other ones? I'm also in the market for a fogger cause the mister I bought doesn't work.

Nope wasn't me!
I have a ultrasonic Humidifier.
Matt I like it because it puts out room temp mist and not hot steam. I use it in the the room itself. However it does tend to leave a white dust on some surfaces. I suppose if I used nothing but distilled water that would cease but I go thru too much water for that !

What are you using it for? You our herps?
Ultrasonic: Break water into small particles using sound waves.
Cool mist: Increases humidity by blowing air over wick in water.
I don't really see how effective that could be.
Warm Mist: Humidity is increased by boiling water.

Yeah, I need one for my basilisk. The mister I have works similarly to the second one you described, and yeah, it's not that effective.

Im pretty sure those are the only types available.
The ultrasonics (large enclosed ones) will get alot of humidity into the cage but you gotta plumb it in. The little ones work good but have the associated risks, and can be used if used properly. Like I said the sunbeam ultrasonics at walgreens are worth the money.

What do you mean about the plumbing? I need to hook it up lie a sink or a toilet or something? What about the size and cost?

People that use them directly for the cage will use PVC and build a pipe leading from the humidifier into or over the top of the cage.
