depends on what kind of toads you have?

Yeah you can use jungle mix for them since they are forest dwelling animals. I used bed a beast for them when I had an american toad.

It is fine I used it for my OFBT's when I had a half n half tank set up and the american toads like it for the humidity releasing properties of it.

Yeah, that'll work. I've seen that stuff before. It'll be best if its slightly damp, not completely dry.
