Fruit fly glutton
i've got one D. leucomelas that seems to eat all of the fruit flies and the other two try their best to eat but cant quite catch them as well. They flick their tongues at the flies so frantically but they cant seem to catch any. Meanwhile the big fruitfly glutton frog is getting fat and being a total glutton. I have tried to separate the two skinny ones into a critter keeper to try and feed them, that didnt work they wouldnt eat. Then I put the fatter one away while the other were left in the tank to feed at their leisure without being bothered by the big frog, and that didnt work.
What can I do besides increase feedings? i feed them every day with plenty of flies. At least 30 or so per frog.

The only suggestion I could make would be to move the larger one into another tank, I had to do it with my toads because Angry Bob was eating all of the bugs. Now that he has his own tank everyone is happy.

I don't see why moving the larger one out didn't work. Perhaps you could elaborate on that? If he's not there to eat all the flies, then that should leave plenty of flies for the others. You could also try switching to pinhead crickets and see if that makes a difference.

Hello,
I am with Matt. Keep the larger frog out of the tank. (I would just get him his own permanent home.)
I would keep feeding the flies, but I would also offer the pinheads. Since the pinheads are not as quick as flies, they may prove to be easier prey for the 2 that have thinned out.

Adam, sorry I've been at work since 2.
What are the age of the supplements you are using and how often are you dusting your flies? One major problem, and it seems somewhat like what you are describing is that a vitamin (I believe vitamin A) isn't absorbed from the older nutes, thus they often strike and miss due to the lack of needed vitamins but in this case they usually hit but take nothing back with them. If your supplements are older than a 6 months get new ones, by the way which brand are you using? Leucs get along well in groups, usually when they are being bullied it is apparent and between females, if you have all females it is a possibility, but without a male I don't think so, and I've never kept leucs so I'm not entirely sure on their behavior. And some frogs are fat, so the others might just be relatively skinny.
Also try feeding at two different times, once for the fat one to eat everything then retire, then a chance for the littler ones.

first of all, i would like to apologize for using the term "nazi" in my subject line. I did not mean it in the way it was taken and I am very sorry if it offended anybody.
One of the skinny frogs died this evening. It was just too weak. The other one appears to be gaining a little more weight. while the fruit fly glutton has taken very well to his new seperate vivarium. The supplements I was using were over a year old so that must be my problem. I dusted every day very lightly. I have some newer supplements that i'll start using. How often should I use the calcium and then the multivitimans? I use rep-cal multivitimans with beta carotene instead of vitamin A, and t-rex calcium carbonate supplement.

Adam, I do suspect that lack of something is to blame due to expired supplements. I, and a lot of others, use Rep-cal calcium and Rep-cal herptivite with good results, I'm not sure if the composition of the T-rex was to blame. I dust sporadicaly but some dust daily. I believe in smaller tanks where the food will be consumed immediately every other feeding is adequate, about once every 2 to 4 days.

i was using very old supplements for the darts, i dont know what brand, but the trex and repcal are brand new. I'm thinkin if I dust calcium every other feeding and vitimans every third feeding i'll be doin good.
