Heck of a drive. Have you found blue sides garters around where you are? Been wanting to find these for years, one reason I came to FL.

Actually I have not seen but two snakes (alive in nature) the entire time I've been going to school up here. I've seen hundreds of turtles, frogs, geckos, and anoles but have yet to see that many snakes. I also don't really go looking for them, so maybe thats why I've yet to see them, if I'm out in nature im searching for viv decor or fishing .

Whats the range of the blue sided? We have tons of different types habitats up here, I wouldn't even know where to begin looking. I should be going to talk to some people in the bio department tommorow about my new frogs as well as culturing drosophelia flies for frog food, I can ask a few people in the department for some leads if you want, especially the ecologist, he has the dynamics of pretty much every population in Florida conceptualized.

Leads would be great.
Pretty much, both T. s. similis and T. s. nitae(I want a Page Ranking. of each) are located in the arm pit of Fl. Both live in marshes and pine flatwoods. Wakulla and Withlacoochee Co. seem to be the best counties for finding them. Oddly enough, so much in common, I'm surprised they are different species.

Interesting. The bad news is I went and talked to him but we got so tied up in fruit flies (for the frogs) that I forgot to ask .

And seeing as tallahassee borders Wakulla I am guessing I am in the hot spot for the ones you are looking for. I am also guessing that the Apalachicola national forest would be home to both as it is a huge pine flatwood and marsh area reserve. The forest is only about five minutes from my house but I have yet to go herping there, I did go sinkholing though .

When I go down again I will try to remember to ask him if he can get me any leads, he did get me the lead for unlimited free fruit flies
