a few questions:

what size is that tank?
temps?
humidity?

I would sculpt the landscape a bit. Maybe add some large rocks or driftwood in the corner and plants up at the top. They also need a better place to hide. One of those half coconut shells work great. Maybe sprinkle some Magnolia leaves around. They also like moss. I would try adding and growing some moss in there.

I think you have a great start, but it could use a little more fine tuning.

The tank is 20 inch long and 12 inch wide and high. The temp is 75-77 F, i mist it two three times a day and the humidity is around 70-80%. I orderd some moss and I got one of those coconut hides. I'm thinking about getting a pair of tricolors or a pair of ventrimaculatus or a pair of leucomelas but these probaly get to big for the viv? When I change the viv i'll post some updated pics. Thanks for your advice .

your temps aren't high enough. They need to be 80-85. And that tank is pretty small. no more than a pair of frogs for it. They don't do too good on straight dirt or even substrate. They prefer rocks and plants and moss. Also look into planting a few bromiliads. Dart frogs LOVE them because of the water they collect in the centers.

Re: Suitable as dart frog vivarium?

I see the plant pot sticking up. Be sure you are using non poisonous plants and most importantly be sure you are soaking the plants to remove pesticides and cleaning the roots thougoughly to remove all potting soil. there are pesticides and growth food in the soil that is toxic to frogs, especially darts. you might think the darts will never come into contact with the dirt under your substrate in a pot but think again, your terra balls are working as a natural filter theres water running through the pots into the terra balls and touching your frogs skin. terra balls can not filter out the poisons in the dirt!!

Good luck with the tank its lookin good so far!!

What are those brown beads on the bottom...is that just to keep humidity by having water that doesn't soak into the dirt? let me know more. looks like a great idea and a good cage!

How often do you have to completely change that substrate?

The beads are a baked clay ball used in hydroponics. They are in there as a drainage layer for the soil.
Sort of like people putting stones in the bottom of a clay flower pot.

Good advice regarding the enclosure. Definitely pull the plants from the pots and clean the root systems well.

Leucs would be good first frogs. Tricolor males like to call from high points, so it may not be a good choice for a small enclosure. If you decide on Vents, you'll want to make sure they're the "French Guiana" variety, as they're easier for beginners.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I have to disagree with you, most dart frog species like temps of 70-80F. Your correct on dart frogs preferring rocks, plants, and moss. Also leaflitter is very natural and dartfrogs love it. They hate being directly on dirt, it sticks to them.

Just a little bit of information, dart frogs do not need a water dish, or area. They don't even need bromeliads that carry water. They absorb moisture through their skin, so you just have to make sure humidity is always 80%-100%, mist frequently.

Humidity can fluctuate. It's a good idea to always have water your frogs can access, regardless of humidity. Better safe than sorry.
