No clue on plants, deffinately a pair of D. Aurutas. Anything else would be too big, or too expensive. Plus, I really dig the green and blacks. <3

Any plant ideas? This is my first viv.

Thats an awesome tank. Really awesome, wish I could do something like that. Keeps us updated. For plants I have no clue, i would say some air plants and brumelaid(sp) I dont know if those are right from dart frogs or not.

Here's a place with reasonably prices Broms, and inexpensive Ricca and Java.

Yeah the green and blacks are what I started with. I like all of them but the green and blacks are iconic for me. I started with some costa rican green and blacks (supposedly smaller than the Nics and darker than the Hawaiians but I never compared side by side). I got out of them because of fruit flies, I had a couple fiascos when I got lazy and it was just too stressful. But all in all their care is easy once established.

The plants are mostly going to depend on your lighting. I wouldn't recommend broms as they get large and require a fair amount of light. Plus auratus are floor dwellers, broms are better suited for aboreal frogs that use the broms for egg deposits. Another factor with plants is cost, you could jam pack the tank for $5 with pothos and ivy. I could easily spend $100 filling up a ten gallon.
Here's a start:
Cheap and hardy: Pothos, Ivy, Hoya's, ficus, Dracenea's, begonias (for the most part), moss, , tillandsia's, some ferns, most aquatics (anubias, ludwigias, java moss)
Expensive and more fragile: Orchids, Ferns (depends, some will overtake the tank), peperomia's.

Not everything is suitable for a 10 gallon. If you have a fair amount of light you'll also need to make sure you don't get something that will outgrow the tank.

Great start. I can't wait to see the final product. Partly because I'm trying to decide what to do with a 10-20 gal enclosure.

Do you think I can get any of these at Home Depot or Lowes? We have a few garden centres near by, but I don't know the latin names.

I've seen a few types of Ivy, but i'm not sure if it's terrarium safe..

You should be able to get most of them at either.

Not to call Cody out, but the set of Turquoise & Black Auratus that I had would climb all over the place. The Azeurus are very terrestrial, and would benefit from having the 10 horizontal as you set it up.

But either would do great,

also Poison Dart Frogs Poison Arrow Frogs Dart Frogs & Poison Arrow Dart Frogs Terrarium Animals from Saurian Enterprises, Inc. is a great guy, and he also have frogs.
