Berta the Iguana

Back in January, I adopted from Jay Demore, a beautiful iguana named Berta (aka Bart until we deemed her female) . She quickly settled in, and eventually moved in with my other 2 resident females, Lizzie, and Ziggie. In April, she laid a batch of eggs with no probs, and was eating, and growing a bit. Of course we didnt know how old she was or anything, but although she was small for her age, she appeared to be an older animal.

Well, she must have been hooked in the chin with a nail from the other igs, and it was infected...she seemed better after a course of antibiotics , but then quickly lost ground and died yesterday...I am just figuring her age may have something to do with it...but she was a great iguana...and she will be greatly missed....
