Not reptiles but goodnight...

Much to my sadness and regret we had to have Brain, one of our rats, put to sleep last week, and today we also said goodbye to Mork, another rat. Mork had lumps similar to Mindy, and Brain was just showing signs of oldness- loss of weight, lethargy, bad skin - all three were getting on and it was their time. I was really sad to see them go, and felt immense guilt at deciding when their lives should end, but I would rather that than see them live out their last days in pain. Hopefully Mork and Mindy and Brain are all together having fun in ratty heaven now, and their sister, Pinky, and babies Fudge and Falcor will miss them heaps too i'm sure.

LOL in fact, Pinky was not pleased with me this evening, and I think she was saying, "great, you've left me with these two little brats"

From 6 to 3 in the past few weeks, it is pretty quiet now but my babies will always be remembered in my heart.

Lol Jay, now that's a good thought to hang on to - and knowing my rats, probably true!

It is hard to lose something you love, but we knew they were getting on, and rats don't have long lives, but the lives they have had have filled mine with joy.

Thanks for your comments guys, can always count on you to make me smile.

Sorry to hear of your loss! It's always hard to lose something you love. But when you know that they were old and had a great live it maybe makes it a bid easier somehow. One of my dogs got a heart disease and I'm always praying that she will get old anyway. She's 5 now but you never know. This is always my greatest fear;I absolutely couldn't bare to lose her now.
May God bless you and your pets;all of our pets we love SOOO much!!!!

I'm so sorry! I know what you must be going through...I still haven't gotten over the death of my rat, Rizzo, several years ago. He was one of the sweetest pets I ever had. I love rats.
