Re: Goodbye my Arthur

Thanks everyone. Yes he did live out the rest of his life like a King. I really miss him though, i have noone to hang out with me when I am on the computer in the morning, as that was always his alloted time, lol. I can say it was a rough morning for me. There has been way too much loss this year for me, I hope the rest of the year ends up better..... My poor heart cant take anymore But he did not pass in vain, I am picking up the smaller boa at the city shelter in the next day or two as I promised Arthur I would keep helping his kind right before he was put down. This is actually tougher than I thought, I was prepared for his passing, but this really bites!

You know people keep telling me that you eventually turn numb when you do rescue, I have yet to have that happen to me. I swear I get so emotionally attached that it just kills me when I can do nothingto save one. I wonder when the day will come that it wont bother me emotionally. I guess that is what keeps me going though,, my emotions,,,,,who knows. The way I figure it,,, the day I become numb to abuse, neglect, and suffering is the day I will quit doing rescue. A lot of people dont agree, but thats my philosophy.l

Nichole I agree with you 100%!
You do have to develop a certain shell around your emotions just to do what you do and to make those hard choices.
But when you stop caring about what you are doing is when it leads to you becoming the heartless type of "rescue" that you detest so much.
I just can't see that happening with you.

Re: Goodbye my Arthur

It allways hurts when an animal passes, But it hurts more sometimes when you have to put them down. 'Grats on doing the right thing!
