Re: Accidental Frogicide

Hello,

If its any condolensce, I am pretty sure that most of us have unknowingly slaughtered a reptile or amphibian of some sort with the mower. Sometimes their own camo can be their demise.

Re: Accidental Frogicide

Oh, I know, Rich. I have killed toads before, too. And I've accidentally squished skinks when moving my heavy potted plants in the driveway. It always makes me feel terrible, but it does happen.

Heck, I don't even kill bugs that come in the house -- I release them outdoors!

Re: Accidental Frogicide

Awww, i'm sorry. But if it will make you feel better. I played chicken with a black bird a few weeks ago and I won, then within the same week I hit a dog (he was fine, nothing broke or bleeding) mid break and he had no leash or collar,,,I am not meant to drive a mustang!!!

Re: Accidental Frogicide

I played chicken with a bird once and won. He bounced off my windsheild and hit the ground. He tried flying off but he was badly injured. I know this sounds horrible, but I broke his neck to end his suffering.

Re: Accidental Frogicide

I think most of us have unwittingly done something like that at one time or another. You try and be careful but accidents happen,

Not at all! I would have done the same thing!
If it was injured to the point that you could catch it it was too badly damaged to survive anyway.

Re: Accidental Frogicide

yes, if you can put it out of its misury, please do. A friend of mine hit a buck with his pickup truck. Its front legs were smashed. He snapped his neck to put it out of its misery.
