Personally I'd say get your cat out of your room and the house if possible, you don't want to wake up and find pieces of your monitor everywhere and a very satisfied cat sitting on your bed.

If you tell your parents that you will take responsibility for getting the paneling back the way you found it, would they consider it? As long as you are prepared to follow through (including possibly having to buy a new piece of paneling)...
As a parent, I would be supportive of my kid following through on responsibility for an animal, and of the kid having an opportunity to follow through on keeping his word. Not criticizing your parents if they don't want their house torn apart, just offering you a way to maybe present it to them so they might see it from a different perspective and be able to say yes...

unfortunatley ive already tried that, its a prompt "no, your not ripping apart your wall" im not in a position where I could argue the matter either. Right now I have some weird traps set up for him involving fishing line and crickets crawling behind the wall, i hope it yields some results... At this point anything is more humane than hijm dyeing of dehydration.

also the cat is proving useful in pointing out spots in the wall I may want to check.

I am so sorry to hear about that, Grim! My snake is missing as well and I am going crazy. For all I know he could be in my walls as well... Good luck!

alrighty I convinced my mom to remove SOME of the paneling, when I showed her how easy it was to pry out the nails and the panel comes right off
my cat was going crazy over the wall last night I seriously think ginko is behind these panels

Good luck, Grim! Glad your mom was open to the idea in the end.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and Ginko...
