Varanus bengalensis nebulosus, I'd say.

I agree with crocdoc, but they are the darkest ones I have ever seen. Where did they originate from?

The V. b. nebulosus sub-species ranges from Burma, Thailand and Indochina to West Malaysia, Singapore, Java and probably Sumatra.

O, how I wish it was a mangrove. I've seen mangrove on TV, and they are so gorgeous.

I'd say these ones are form mainland China. Unfortunitely people still eat them there.

If it was mainland China (far south), it is definitely Varanus bengalensis nebulosus. They are eaten throughout much of their range, which is one of the main reasons why they are CITES I. They reportedly taste very good.
