Re: Savs Eating?
So sorry, that's very sad. Unfortunately it's a sad truth to many different imported species.
It would be helpful still if you could get a blood sample done. If they are still able to determine the cause of death.
Also inform the place where you purchased them. More than likely all from the same batch will have the same fate.
Again sorry this had to happen. You did all you could, it was just too late to do more. Probably getting treated wouldn't have helped at this point.

Re: Savs Eating?
Yea I tried everything I could. I had gone to the reptile store today, told them about the suspected parasites, and they informed the people who had bought the rest of the batch right on the spot. I have already bleached out all of their decor and their cage. I'm still questioning what to do with the savs. Any free time at all I have tomorrow I'll be running over to my vet to find out the problem, I'm almost 100 percent sure it was parasites. Thank you for the support.

Re: Savs Eating?
Please don't feel too bad! It happens to all of us!
I've had a few animals die on me. It always hurts. No matter what species they are.
DON'T GIVE UP!!!

Re: Savs Eating?
So sorry about Your sav, I adopted one as well, but he was already in a bad state, It looked like he was coming around, and just dead, one day, I was devasted, The vet said he died of parasites. which he was being treated for, just too late I guess.

Re: Savs Eating?
Thank you everyone for the support. I've taken in a 3 month old red tegu two days ago, So I'm a little busy with him right now, because he eats more than I do! lol, but I will try again with savannah monitors, and most likely other monitors, and next time I do I will get a vet appt the day I pick them up to ensure they will live a long healthy life. Once again thank you very much everyone.
