Bosc Monitor

I'm buying a bosc monitor soon and would like some good advice before I get one. I have a vivarium that is 8ft long 4ft wide and 4ft high. The bosc I'm getting is 3ft long.

Re: Bosc Monitor

What are your plans for the basking spot, substrate, feeding, just the basics.

Re: Bosc Monitor

What is the construction of the vivarium. That's the first time I've ever heard of an enclosure that big being referred to as a vivarium.lol
Need something really sturdy to hold a lot of dirt.

Re: Bosc Monitor

Basking spot 100 to 110 ,cool side 80 to 83 . I thought about using soil for the substrate and feeding mice, small rats and crickets.

Re: Bosc Monitor

Sorry vivarium was the wrong word I meant to say enclosure. I'm going to use 3/4 inch marine plywood.

Re: Bosc Monitor

Vivarium could be the correct word. Usually used for smaller enclosures I guess.
Marine grade plywood would is a great product.

Re: Bosc Monitor

Ok!, very nice. Instead of crickets, try roaches. They're more filling and way more nutrutious. Also try some chics for more variety. Good luck.
