Re: Monitor Lizard Care Books

I know in another recent monitor thread Mike (kriminaal) recommended books by Daniel Bennett and Ravi Thakooryal. I'm not sure if they have books that cover monitors in general, or if they're specific to savanna monitors, but it may be worth a look.

I read that the "Little Book of Monitor Lizards" is very good, as is one called "The Savannah Monitor Lizard". Kind of a generic title, but hopefully that helps.

Here's a few awesome links to scour for info.
International Varanid Interest Group - Home
Also this forum has some of the worlds most knowledgeable monitor breeders.
Having said that they usually won't answer beginner type questions.

Re: Monitor Lizard Care Books

I am currently working on the site's literature section and just finished the "Monitors" category.

Have a look here under Lizards >> Monitors

Reptile Literature - Books

I am not sure which of those books is best, but there are several to check out.

I will be adding a search feature to the page later, since I am not listing every book out there. I am just creating a selection.

I didn't see a turtle/tortise section is there one there or are you still working on that part? Not beening impatiant just curious. Pretty good that your setting that section up though because it's hard sometimes to find good books.

Re: Monitor Lizard Care Books

I should have it finished tomorrow. Its a lot more work than it may appear. I am also missing a ton of snake books and invertebrates as well.
