He may not be asleep! Many reptiles will close their eyes when in stressful situations.
Its their way of making the big bad monster (you) go away!

Agreed. Although with Integra and Zena and our ig if you don't rub their head, they will start rubbing on you, as we have had them long enough that they enjoy their people time. They will close their eyes although not necessarily be asleep because they are feeling blissfully happy from the attention. Even the new ig wants to be Mommy's "only" baby. Some days it's hard to fit in everyones quality time. My boa will try to threaten anyone who tries to take him from me. Even if it's out of stress currently, if you do it on a regular basis of a few minutes at a time when you have him out, he will actually want you to start doing it more. My snakes prefer being rubbed under their chins.

Doe's he snore?
Just kidding!, But they can remain motionless for long periods of time. Try dropping a pinkie in while sleeping and you'll see if he's really asleep or not!

Re: sav trait?????

i just tried that, but instead of dropping it I quietly placed it in front of him so he wouldnt wake up if he was realy asleep, he just kept sleeping so I quietly removed it and fed it to him later when he was awake.

juust a new question but I feed him 2 pinkies every 2nd day. instead should I just give him 1 pinkie every day???

Re: sav trait?????

Don't beleive everything you see Steve Irwin do on TV.
A lot of it was staged for the camera!
