Omg, they are so cute. I especially love the slobber machine. I had 7 at one time and did some breeding, ended up with 3 whites and one had faded spots, lol. Had another that thought he was a 90 lb lap dog Cant go wrong with a boxer, they are awesome.

You may not believe it, but she never, never drools and hardly barks as well.
May destroy the entire house if left alone for long periods, as a punishment to us, but no slobber.

And, Venus, you´re right: you can´t go wrong with a boxer. They´re the best dogs for children. And tolerate everything ...

I think white boxers have some different genetics, the white ones we had were the same way. Hardly barked and didnt slobber a whole lot. Most breeders if they end up haveing white ones will euthenize them.

Look like big baby, pacifier and all

Beautiful family (including the dog)! I love boxers...I've never had one, but I think they're really interesting dogs. We might possibly have adopted one, but someone beat us to her. She was a white boxer also, and she seemed really really sweet.

From what I´ve read, the slobbering has a lot to do with anxiety.
The more anxious they are, the more slobber you get. You can reduce the anxiety if you feed always at the same hours, take them out for a walk several times (3 to 4 in our case) a day, etc
But, as always with animals, it depends a lot on the individual as well.

As regards the white boxers, its just a recessive gene present in all boxers that have some white in their body (even if just a spot). Two brown parents - as long as one of them has the recessive gene - may have only white puppies (of course, the albinos are a different story)

They used to euthenize the white boxers (some breeders still do) because according to the (very old...from way before they found out why some dogs were born white) internacional standards if more than 1/3 of the body is white, they are "out of pattern" and thus not considered pure...

Things are changing now, because a few years ago, they crossed the Canadian and All America champions and 6 out of 8 puppies were... totally white. Shocking !! .
I believe in the US they´re now talking seriously about changing this pattern issue (they were, at least some time ago. Don´t know how things are at the moment).

So, nowadays, most breeder are allowing white puppies to live. Nevertheless, it was a bit difficult for us to find a white boxer (and we really wanted a white one)

We see a few white boxers in our practice because we have a couple of boxer breeders, they usually give away the white ones since they can't be shown. Their main concern is that most of them are deaf..If I remember right we see 3 that are deaf and one that can hear. Granted that's not a big deal to most people because dogs can pick up readily on hand signals.

Hi Lacey,

Aren´t those albino boxers ? From what I´ve read, albinism usually causes some failures in sight and hearing. So most of the albinos tend to be either blind or death (or both)
