Ozzy acting weird!!

Dont know whether he growing up on me or just being a complete pain, he wont eat, I have to sit him on my knee to get him to eat one or two crix, which takes a lot of coaxing, and hes just acting really strange, he must be growing up, today he wouldn't let me hold him, he just kept jumping away, so I let him just run around while I tried to get some pictures of him, he eventuall did come sit with me but only for a warm lol.

Rachel how is Roo's behaviour lately?

heres a few pics

LOL, he must be going thru his terrible twos...or on the verge of being a teenager. My Bearded Dragons when thru that stage. They did not want to be messed with.

Hey

Yep Roo is behaving exactly the same - her appetite has decreased quite a lot - she will have one cricket perhaps each day, although that's all I see her eat - she is still pooping so she must be eating As long as Ozzy isn't losing weight he will be fine - they are growing much more slowly at this age so their appetites will decrease, and the adults really don't eat so much - esp. when you compare them to Bearded Dragons. Our adults have actually started eating more since coming out of brumation, and now weigh more than they did before they were cooled!

Roo is gaining weight, but only 1g every couple of weeks. Next time we come over/you come to us we will weigh Ozzy and make sure he's not losing weight. How is Ozzy with other foods? - Roo won't eat mealies or wax worms, and neither will the adults - so much for verocious feeders!

Roo is actually getting more tame, although we usually prefer to get her out in the evening when she is sleepy - saves us from chasing her around the room, way too many hazards in our lounge to let her roam!

Wouldn't worry - reports from the others who got collards from us are the same, I guess they will eat less as they are growing more slowly.

By the way he is looking as great as ever! He is such a handsome thing! Will post some pics of Roo later

He isnt showing any interest any any foods, not even his locust and he usually loves them, he is pooing ok, but I wont leave crix in the cage with him like I do with the Bearded Dragons, they all gaher round and hide with him and probably munch on him when asleep, even if I put veg in they do, i usually can keep them in a bowl with veg but Ozzy has started to knock it over and he is sooo lazy he wont hunt,

I have been pulling the jumping legs off and siting him down with me and letting him take them off my knee, ewwww I know, I always worry bout cricket guts on my lap but these thing have to be done, if it makes him eat I dont mind lol.

I just hope this stage soon passes, I worry, just get Tolkein back to normal and Ozzy starts, I try him with a few crix at different times in the day, just to make sure like if he isnt hungry in the morning, he might want some later.

cant wait to se pictures of Roo

Well one thing I would suggest is to stop feeding him on your knee - this will only encourage him to be lazy! He won't bother hunting for food if he knows you will get him out and hand feed him

LOL I know, I just cant help it, I have to mother them, laziness come natural with Ozzy, he has never hunted, if he cant see it he wont eat it, I just put a cricket on his rock where he was lay and he backed away from it, so im just going to leave him now.

I have left two in there with him, see if they are gone by tomorrow.

Hehehe well I'm glad he went somewhere where he is spoilt! Much rather that than him have gone somewhere horrible. We treat our animals too well!

Roo won't hunt either - I will drop the crickets in front of her and she will have one or two but it's almost like she doesn't recognise them as food when they're running about her tank. Lazy lazy lazy!
