I'm a grandma again !! I got an emerald swift from last month's herp meeting raffle....and she gave birth today !!!

So far she's birthed 5....

Those buggers are fast....I can't take a picture through the tank and when I open it they take off running.

It's a shame....cause they are so cute all cuddled up on top of their mum.

Awesome! Emerald Swifts are such beautiful reptiles. (of course, all reptiles are beautiful in my eyes.)

In this one the baby near the bottom, was like that for over an hour. I thought it might be dead, so I removed it (after I took the picture).


It turns out the sack was still on it....I gently slid the sack off his head and while sliding it down his back he twitched ...waahoo !


He sat in my hand for a little while and once he started to move a bit I put him in with the others.... you can only see 3 in the picture...the other 2 took off behind the log

thanks....funny thing, they look so much more green in person, than they do in the pictures. The mommy is so green I nearly thought she was a male, but the camera just isn't catching it (as usual).

I just can't believe how cute they are. I was nervous about them being in the tank with the mother....but the way they cuddle all over her, when they could be anywhere else in the tank has put me at ease.
