Red Lacerta/Latastia Longicaudata
How do you say the proper/scientific name anyway?
Anyway, recently the store I work at received a new shipment for our lizard/reptile enclosure, and one of the new additions was a Red Lacerta - AKA Latastia Longicaudata. This one was a cute little lizard, and I was immediately attached to the little one. Would even take meal worms from my hands. However, I'm having somewhat of a hard time finding information about them online - I have a short care sheet I acquired from work, but it's pretty bare bones, and was hoping to read more about their behavior and mannerisms. So far, the unnamed RL seems to be fine with the enclosure I have him in, though I might want to rotate him to a different one eventually (one small lizard in a 55 gallon tank doesn't exactly sit well with me, all though I'm certain they probably would like it!). Does anyone have any places they can direct me to, or books they might be able to point out to me? Thanks in advance! Alis |

Re: Red Lacerta/Latastia Longicaudata
Indeed. I have a care guide, but it's one of those very basic ones that pet stores often offer - I knew a bit about the species even before that, and honestly know a bit more then the care guide covers, but I was hoping that I could dig up more, as while I know more then the care guide, it isn't by much. At least, not for this species.
Still, the little critter seems to be doing well enough, thus far, even if they are a bit skittish for the moment. |
