Hi everyone. I'm so glad I found this site. We purchased a dragon agama about a little over a month ago (our first one) and while he seems to be doing very well (great appetite, very active), I'm a bit concerned b/c he hasn't shed yet, and we have to spray as often as 5x a day to keep the humidity up above 70% (hopefully this problem will be alleviated come spring and summer when we can turn the heat off in the house). Also, while I've been told and read that I should bathe him at least once a week, it really seems to stress him out when I do, and I was wondering if laying in his water dish (as I sometimes find him) is an okay replacement for a bath. If not, any suggestions for making bath time less stressful?

Sorry for all the questions on my first post, but we've already grown to love our little Dragon, and want to keep him as happy and healthy for as long as possible. Thanks in advance for any advice.

For those that don't already know, unless I am mistaken, the Dragon Agama would be better known as the Chinese Tree Dragon, Japalura splendida.

I was just about to ask if you could describe it. I too am assuming it's a splendid tree dragon (Chinese tree dragon). But still, there are MANY agamid lizards that could be called "dragon agamas". And in either case, "dragon agama" isn't really a legitimate name. It's something either the pet store or their supplier called them.

I'm afraid I'm a bit rushed for time right now, but if you put "Japalura splendida" in the search bar near the very top of the window you'll find other threads that we've had about them, if that is indeed your lizard.
