maybe try going to a craft store and getting some cheap fabric and hang it over the mirrors? Or even some sort of canvas or something and you can paint it or cover it with your pictures!

I don't know that it would make a difference. They couldn't see each other at the old house and the behavior was the same.
Do you think it is more visual, or could part of it be smell?

Maybe the Bearded Dragon thinks there another Bearded Dragon! and an ig lol
because of the mirrored closet doors.
Can you face the Bearded Dragon away from the closet doors?
I dunno...just trying to help.
Im glad he's still eating though.
Hopefully they will get along
eventually...

I'd try covering the closet doors wtih a sheet and see where that gets you.

They were doing it before there were closet doors. And no, as stated multiple times before, they can't be moved.

It's fine for the dragion to bob. He is merely displaying his dominance. If he is black bearded all the time, which would indicate extreme stess, something further would need to be done.

If he isn't constantly black bearded, and is eating fine, you have nothing to worry about. He has staked his claim to his "territory", and is just letting the ig know to stay away. lol

Re: Reptile Dysfunction-Can't We Get Along?

Mine are all in the same room as well, and can mostly see each other. Mine are weird, weird, weird though. The uro, when he was alone, would not come out of his hide for anything. Now that he's got an ornery ig in the next cage over, and a snake on the opposite side, he's out all the time, just daring me to clean out his cage.

The ig was fine with the uro, but seemed resentful of the snake. As soon as I got the snake, he started demanding attention practically non-stop. He's since calmed down a little, but still eyes the snake with a baleful glare sometimes.

The snake could care less who's in the room or even in his cage unless it touches him or is food. (I tried to pick him up one morning and he wasn't having it. I think I will use the gloves the first few times after all. )

All in all, they spend their days posturing at each other, but they are all eating really well, pooping, etc. I actually think the competition helps them. At least two are much more active now, and actually move, which is better for the little lazybones.

I don't think you have much to worry about as long as you don't have any chameleons in there.

Re: Reptile Dysfunction-Can't We Get Along?

I'm not sure there is a solution. My male Bearded Dragon spends a great deal of time bobbing and scampering around. He is in a room with both a female Bearded Dragon as well as a female iguana and he cannot see either of them. It doesn't seem to matter. He's just a spaz!

Re: Reptile Dysfunction-Can't We Get Along?

I covered the mirror, we'll see what comes of it. They are still working on establishing who is going to be the alpha male in the new apartment, Zola (Bearded Dragon) seems to be winning, the iguana just doesn't care.

I almost wish I could let the iguana tail whip the Bearded Dragon across the room like a soccer ball and show him who is boss. That might fix things! Haha!
