Re: Frilled Lizards

Wonderful little guy's, I love them and if they didn't cost so much might have a pair. They like a taller cage and need a good amount of space so your best building something I would go 4' x 2.5' x as tall as you can 6-7' would be idea. Diet, temps, lighting and humidity are near the same as bearded dragons. So you really can't go too wrong there. From a breeder I know they really don't breed often so their hard to find alot of the times. Most breeders end up holding back their first cluches.

Re: Frilled Lizards

Our local Petsmart has had a couple for a few months. They keep them in with the water dragons. They are very cute, I really liked them. Can't do the money or the extra large cage space at this time though.

Re: Frilled Lizards

they keep them with the water dragons? Water dragons and frilled dragons have significantly different needs! you should tell them that if they are forced to house the frillies with any other lizard, they should house them with beardeds, as at least the requirements are similar.

Re: Frilled Lizards

You can't tell the people at our Petsmart anything, they refuse to listen. The manager and assistant manager feel they know it all. We have tried before. The water dragons they have frequently have mouthrot also. They've had a lot of them with mouthrot. They now have a vet who is practicing out of their store, so they really feel they know it all now. The local Pet Supplies Plus didn't know enough not to feed iguanas crickets, that was their main meal until I talked to them and showed them the lists of acceptable foods. They would occaisionally give them some broccoli or iceberg lettuce for greens. I say they need to post what they should be fed on each cage, at least they give the iguanas a little more room (not enough) than the other stores.
