 Herp Center - Little League FundraiserI would much rather members donate toward this cause than donate toward the expenses associated with Herp Center. Little League is a great time for kids to learn about teamwork and sportsmanship. It would be money well spent.  The Back Story: The Maplewood Little League Division in Fall River, MA is in need of a scoreboard for one of their fields. It just so happens that the field in need is the one used by the rookie division. (T-ball is one below the rookie division.) We were only able to assemble 8 little league teams in this division this year, which means EVERY team automatically will be in the playoffs. With such a massive decline in participation (some speculate that the current economic state on lower income families is the cause) the fund drives usually associated with little league are going to fall very short this year. As the father of a little leaguer and active participant at games and practices I would really like to be able to help the division acquire the scoreboard or at least cover other expenses like the parks upkeep and concession stand maintenance. Herp Center has already pledged to sponsor the division next year at a cost of $500.00 plus the cost of the advertising banner. (Pictures will be presented on the site next season when we are hanging at the field.) I will be covering these costs out of my pocket but was hoping that members may want to help support the little league division with a small donation. All donations will be presented to the division as part of our local fundraising drive in the upcoming weeks.
