That would explain alot. It would get rid of alot of theories and bring up new ones like the dinosaurs became extinct due to the ice age. It makes since though since modern dinosaurs have to have an external heat source to maintain their body temperature.

the tropics were still very warm during the ice age. it was an interesting read, but as with most areas of research, we know the end result before we find the pathway. we knew (or at least stronly suspected) dinosaurs were cold blooded. This is just identifying the gene responsible for certain pathways, although muscle metabolism creates heat as well- hence shivering- and relating it to a phylogeny. This wont dispel any current theories that are widely accepted.
