The problem in breeding frogs for instance in this purpose. Is that they would have a different chemical makeup than they would in the wild. You would need to offer them all the varieties of insects that they eat. Not only that but whatever the insects eat is just as important. If they could synthesize the specific properties it would be phenomenal.

What I suspect the government will do with these frogs is create a synthetic medicine that is comprised of the same and active components of the frogs secretion. For them, it will be more cost effective to manufacture the genetic structure of the secretion than it will to breed or collect these animals.

Of course, some will be harvested and possibly bred, but they will not remain the sole source.
