How to tell if eggs are going to hatch!

I have got 1 egg from my female, Nancy.

It is on day 42 today but over the last 24 hours has developed a little lumpy thing on it that I can only dsescribe as a blister looking thing! It has also gone a bit more squishy than it was.

Is this a sign that it is going to hatch or is it telling me to frget it and move on!!

I have never had a hatchling before and I am holding out a lot of hope for this little one.

The egg has grown throughout the incubation time nad is still nice and bright white although the bottom has stained formt he moss in with it for moisture.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Each time mine hatched the eggs were different, sometimes they would soften and collaspe and other times they would just hatch, lol...Not sure about the blister part...sorry

i have 8 leo eggs and I heard after about a month shine a light and if the egg glows pink/red it's fertile and a baby geck is in there if it glows yellow it's dead if the egg collapses and crinkles it's a gonner but this is my first set of eggs and there due dates for the earliest is 11 of august so i'm hoping to

Hey Legend

It is true that if you "candle" your eggs with a bright torch and see veins then it is fertile.

I have done this with all of my eggs and the 3 I have right now all showed fertile. My egg is quite far into the incubation now so when I candle I can just see a big mass and a couple of little veins.

It has also gone a bit softer than it was but still no signs of a baby!!

RICH - if you read this please offer me some words of wisdom! Is it normal fo rthe eggs to go a bit softer before they hatch or is this natures way of letting me down gently

i could not ell you but the average incubation time is 65 day if it is pink and shows viens then it sounds likeit is fertile if it has gone softer try placing some sphagma moss over it it could be that theyare losing moisture

lmao - I am going as fast I can hun trust me lol

We have had people over here reporting hatchlings as early as day 38 this year due to our strange weather possibly?

I am keeping a close eye on it because if it does hatch I want to try and get pics of it pipping and such - I have my camera on the top of the incubator just in case lmao

If all goes well then you shall have hundreds of pics trust me
