Midnight Blizzard?

This is Shadey, my blizzard lizard. When I asked how come Shadey was so dark, someone on another forum told me that she is actually a midnight blizzard. Since Shadey was a rescue, I can't exactly ask the breeder. What do you all think? http://www.**********.net/images/504...ysayswasup.jpg
She is about two years old and soon, once I find a male, I will try breeding her.

I think "midnight blizzards" are melanistic Leopard Geckos, maybe even melanistic paternless Leopard Geckos. I find it is helpful to take anything you read about leopard gecko genetics with a grain (or several grains) of salt. I'd like to get a white blizzard just because I think they are interesting looking.

Shadey says thanks. I think blizzard lizards are completely different then any other types of leopard gecko, because there are different morphs of blizzards themselves. The three that I've heard of so far are normal, banana, midnight and blazing. Blazing Blizzards are the ones that stay Purely white, even as adults. I think you get them by crossing an albino leopard gecko with a blizzard lizard. They are beautiful, but very pricey from what I've seen. I have a normal female leopard gecko housed with Shadey, and they look and act completely different from one another. They are both around the same age, but Shadey is much smaller even though she eats like a cow.

All of this makes me wonder if it would be difficult to breed a blizzard lizard with any other type of leo other then a Bliz. Since the only case I have ever heard of is with the Blazing Blizzard and they happen to be very pricey.

My Blizzard is smaller than my other geckos even though they are all around the same age. I was wondering if they are generally smaller than the other geckos as she eats like a pig as well. As for the colouring, she tends to go that darker colour a few days before she sheds and after that she goes very grey. After she has shed she goes back to being mostly pink with some yellow on her body. As I don't know anyone else with one I don't know if this is normal or not.

Blizzard Lizard

The picture above was actually taken during her light stage. She had just shed and that is when her skin is the lightest. Is there any way you could post a pic of your blizzard? I haven't seen very many pictures of blizzards except for the ones on the breeder sites.

Pic of Slo-Mo.

There you go, she's around 4 months old in that pic and had just shed.

Thanks!

For the pic of your sweetie, I'd say that Slo-Mo goes that colour a few days before she sheds and then she reverts back to her pale pink colour. I wouldn't mind getting one like yours, she's a gorgeous colour.
