Don't panic unneccessarily - your gecko may just have a bad aim
although it is possible that he is blind, however if he knows where to aim for the food but is just not able to catch it, there may be some other problem - does he eat? Does he excrete? How old is he? - if he is sub-adult to adult, does he have a nice fat tail? Look for all the basic signs of good health and go from there.

Is he a morph with reduced melanin? I've noticed that geckos with reduced melanin, as well as other animals, sometimes have vision problems that have a mild effect on thier ability to feed. Also if he is a morph with reduced melanin feeding them in low light is recommended as they are sensitive to bright direct light.

You mean he's a normal morph leopard gecko? If all the basic signs of health are there I'm sure he's fine. There really is no way that you can prove if he is blind or lesser-sighted than other geckos, as he may just have a bad aim - if he can see the food but can't catch it easily there may be some other problem. Is there anything else that makes you think he might be blind? It is more likely that he perhaps doesn't have as good sight as he should have, but if he is healthy and feeding well it shouldn't affect him.
