Hi. I need to know how often a leo should shed. I got mine on 11/18 of this year and she has shed twice. She is almost 6 months old. Is that normal?

If she has shed twice in a little less than a month there is nothing wrong especially if one shed wasat the beginning and one just now. Herps shed as they grow. It is not unusual for a herp to shed every three to four weeks until about a year or so of age. After that as their rate of growth slows down so will the period between sheds lengthen. It suggests that she is eating good for you. You're doing something right. Keep it up.

Hi. Thanks for responding. She shed on 11/25 and then on 12/9. That's only about two weeks. Is that ok? I just thought that it was alittle to soon for her to shed again. I will just keep an eye out for the next shed. She seems healthy. She eats, drinks, go to the bathroom fine now every other day.

Sounds to me like you're doing a good job of fattening her up! I've seen the same thing with some of our Leopard Geckos as juvies and/or new additions. Some of our petstore acquisitions were in tanks with multiple other Leopard Geckos, and probably just started getting more food into them without having to compete for it. Other ones just seemed to do better once they were in our care. Either way, you're doing something VERY right!
