Hello,
You could surround the dish itself with pieces of driftwood or slate so she can walk around it. If she can walk around the dish and look down into it without having to climb up on it, she may be more inclined to eat from it. Toss in a small piece of potatoe or carrot for the mealies too. The fresh moisture supply will keep them moving and help draw the Leopard Geckos attention.
Glad to hear that she is eating though. Thats great!

Just an after thought,...what type of thermometer are you using?

Merlin, it's a round flukers thermometer.
But, good news. Actually great news. She was out and about just now, so I put in more crickets. Then I decided to take the lid off of the dish with her mealies and wax worms. I was just sitting watching her and decided to take a mealie out of her dish and put it near her. Well she ate it. So, I put out two wax worms. She ate both of those. She had a cricket in her mouth, but as she opened it to swallow or get a better grip, it jumped out. But seeing her eat those two wax worms and that mealie made my day.
Also, I watched her climb into the mealie dish (unlidded) so I know she knows how to get into it now.
I hope even more are gone by morning. She made my day though eating those in front of me, then licking her lips (if she has lips, lol) afterwards. I couldn't wait to get on here and post about it actually.
I have GOT to get a life!
(My kids are happy she's eating too, but they missed the live show.)

I am glad to hear she is making progress! It can be very trying at time!
I would replace the thermometer with a good digital. The type you are using are known to be inaccurate and can be off by 5-10 degrees!

Do you know where I can get a digital one? I looked at petsmart and that was the only one that they had.
I really think the biggest difference is that Under Tank Heater. And during the day I've made her heat light go lower then it was, and that's seemed to make a huge difference.

Hello,
You can get a good digital thermometer with an external probe for $10.00 at Walmart or Target. Place the external probe on the cool or warm end and then place the base at the other. It will read both end and will display the temps correctly within 1 degree with a push of a button.

Thanks again Rich!
I'm happy to report that all 5 crickets in her tank last night are gone this morning. Another mealie and a wax worm are also gone. That's quite a bit of food she ate during the night!

Glad she is eating for you and sorry that I have missed this thread, looks like Rich and everyone got you taken care of though, keep us posted on her progress, and def. replace that stick on thermometer with a digital, you will be surprised at how far off the dial type can be. Rich is correct, you can get digi therms for around $10 at walmart. I was amazed when I switched to digi therms at how far off all my tanks were...
