Questions about food/water

Hello all!!!

Another few questions..

How big does the water bowl needs to be? Big enough for the leo to get in? How deep? Does it needs a safety rock in it?

How many crickets/mealworms should be fed daily?

Thanks!

Have you taken a look at the caresheet, located on the blue toolbar above?

Regarding the food - the general rule is to feed as much as will be eaten in five minutes, and for babies or young geckos they can eat as much as they like as they are growing. Adults need to be fed less often, and won't eat as much, but again a good rule to follow is the 5-minute rule.

You only need a shallow water bowl in there - the gecko should not want to sit in the water bowl (you should provide a moist hide for the gecko to go in when he/she is shedding).

Yeah, I read the caresheet here and a few other caresheets and websites... just questions that suddenly pop in my mind.... I tried to remember if I read how much to feed... I knew I remembered what to feed... crickets, mealworms, wax worms (only every now and then cause they are fatty)... I remember also about water bowl... but this would be my first reptile... so there are many questions... (I had 2 newts, but they both escaped, I'm still wondering how cause they had a wire mesh lid, the same I use for my rodents and I haven't had a rodent escape in more than 2.5 years)

Anyway... thanks for your answers. 8)
Oh... I've seen in the pet store these "reptile water bowls" that consist in a bottle attached to a shallow bowl, would that be ok for the gecko?

I use a small reptile water dish for my Geckos, I don't think you really need the bottle type

I'm asking cause I think that's all I've seen in the reptile section... I've seen online some nice ones that look like hollow rocks... but there's nothing like that on the stores here... There are ones that I use for my rodents (for food) that are round, about an inch tall and a diameter of about 2.5 inches, would that be ok then?
