Leo Encolsure and Leo pics?
Hi, I'd like to see pictures of your leopard geckos and enclosures if possible. I just want to get an idea of what I'd need for leopard geckos when I get them when school ends. Thanks in advance. ^-^

This is my male leopard gecko. They sold him to me as an albino, but I'm not positive that he is albino.
![]() Here is my blizzard lizard back when I used to use sand substrate. This is a No No , but I'm sure you knew that. ![]() I guess I take alot of close-ups and only close-ups because I can't seem to find a pic of their enclosures. Oh well. I guess I'll have to put that on my list of things to photograph. |

Aww they're cute! I think the close-ups make them look cuter. XD And I know not to use sand as a substrate...it does bad things.
I'd use reptile carpet or tiles of some sort. I especially love the pic of your blizzard, he looks curious. |

Newspaper and paper towels make the best and easiest to clean substrate. It makes it easy to clean every time they defecate that way if you want to be really clean. Although this isnt necessary, i just happen to be a clean freak. But, if you just put together a 10 gallon tank with an Under Tank Heater on one side, a dry hide over the heater and a moist hide. Then two bowls (one for water, one for calcium and vitiman supplement), then your all set. Depending on your location and night time temps, you may need more than just the Under Tank Heater for heating if it gets below 60 in your house at night at any time. I've used nothing but Under Tank Heater's all summer for my Leopard Geckos and they have been fine, but I may have to add a small wattage heat lamp for the day time when it gets colder here. But check the temps by placing a thermometer over the Under Tank Heater and see if it gets to the right temp (90 is perfect) if the ambient air temp on the warm side in in the low-mid 80's and the cool side is it the 70's then your all set. Leopard Geckos are perfect for beginners, and even better than Bearded Dragons simply because of the price and the ease in care.
Have fun and post loads when you get it, here's my Leopard Geckos http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/...4/DSC00683.jpg

Ssativa -- that IS an albino, the red vein in the eye is a dead giveaway. If I had to guess, I'd say he's from Tremper lines somewhere along the way, he's got that kind of look!
As for enclosures, here's a couple of the variations we've set up along the way: ![]() We have a two-year-old and baby wipe containers make great humid hides and egg-laying boxes. We also use various terracotta pots and bottoms for hides and food/water dishes. The containers are for a couple of our males and we're in the process of setting up a rack system for future hatchlings. And here's some of our babies: ![]() ![]()

Your Leopard Geckos are cute! I love them.
I'm going to petco to get mice for my snake, and I hope to take a look to see if they are healthy there. I've heard bad and good things about petco/petsmart. I'm going to see if mine's any good at keeping their reptiles. |

Well, I didn't notice anything bad at petco exept for the fact that they use sand for a substrait for the Leopard Geckos. They seem healthy and it was hard to tell by the tails because they were just babies. They had a tangerine which I really wanted to get, but my dad would've probably said no if I asked him.
Oh well, maybe when school ends and I have the money for them, I can get one. ^-^ |

Thanks Dee for clearing that up for me. When I think of albino I think of red eyes, translucent skin....thats why I wasn't sure. What a rarety. They guy at a petstore actually knew what he was selling. LOL. I was thinking Tremper since the day I bought him. They do have a particular look. I'm glad it is not just my imagination.
