When I was little, I used to think that albino meant white skin and bright red eyes...like a mouse or rat. But when I saw an albino snake for the first time, it didn't look albino to me back then. ^-^ But know I know what albino really is...a mutation that makes the skin very pale in color and they normally have red/pinkish eyes. Well, that's my version of what the dictionary said. XD

LOL Albino means no dark pigmentation (in the skin, eyes, or, in humans, hair.) Albino geckos tend to be variations on yellows and pinks, with pale eyes that will usually have some red in them, but are not necessarily solid bright red.

Perfect example, here's a closeup of one of our Bell Albinos:

We deliberately took that pic to show the bit of red vein in his eye.

Then you have the awesome red eyes of one of Ron Tremper's RAPTORs (Red-eyed Albino Patternless Tremper ORange):

I hope I can get my hands on one of those babies in the future, those eyes are absolutely AMAZING!

Petco and petsmart is not the way to go. I have heard of some certain stores where a hobbyist is in charge but unless you know this for sure, dont get a leo from petco or petsmart. Go with reptile shows, private breeders, internet ads, private reliable petshops, etc. anywhere but chain stores is the best rule of thumb.

Don't worry, I wouldn't but anything from petco/petsmart. I just posted that for really no reason...and to say if my petco takes good care of the animals or not, which I'm sure some of them are most likley impacted because of the sand in the enclosure there. I'd get a leo or any pet from a smaller pet store or a private breeder. ^-^

Our favorite source has been the internet -- particularly Capital City Geckos, as well as The Urban Gecko. We've gotten our last 7 geckos (4 Leopard Geckos, 3 African Fat Tails) thru Jason of CCG.

I'll remember those breeders when the time comes for me to get a leo (the end of school ONLY if I get good grades...or if my dad decides to get me knoe for x-mas. Which ever happens first )
