My leopard gecko shed last weekend and has some shed skin still stuck on her toes that I have been trying to remove but am unable to. The skin is still pretty stuck to her toes and is having a hard time just letting go and falling off. What can I do to get this skin off? My gecko is skittish by nature and I have a hard time just holding her and picking at her toes without her wiggling. I tried some shed-aid and let it sit for a couple hours but that didn't see to do anything, although I've had excellent results with it for my other lizard. I am looking for ways to loosen the skin so I don't hurt her when I am removing it from her toes.
-I have had her for about 5 months and she is about 1 year and a half old.
-She is in a 10 gallon tank.
-She is on a aspen chip litter (the breeder I bought her from used this bedding and have never had any problems)
-She has no lighting. I have provided a heating mat under the tank.
-The temperature is about 80-90 degrees.
-She eats meal worms or crickets every other day and has been having no trouble with bowel movements.
