    Superworms?

Is it ok to feed Leopard Geckos superworms? I looked at them for a bit while I was ordering crix the other day. I'm would like to give Cleo something different every once in a while besides crix and mealies. I thought of wax worms, but 35 (the minimum I can order) is too much for just 1 leo, and I can't put them in the fridge (mom doesn't wants them in there).. so I thought of supers as an option, but decided to ask first (even though I read a couple of caresheets that said that they were ok)... if they are ok, I would like to order some next time I order food for Cleo. Thanks in advance for your help!!!
I'll try to do this like you herpers do.... it's males.females.unknown, right? Well, here we go...

    1.2.0 dogs
    9.7.0 gerbils
    2.0.0 dwarf hamsters
    2.10.0 mice
0.1.0 leopard gecko (in case you were wondering where the herps where)
    0.0.2 budgies

Supers will be a fine addition to her diet, just don't make them the staple
    Hi.

Yeah, I'm planning on keeping crix as staple, with mealies as a constant addition... just wanted to give her an extra treat... She deserves it for being such a sweet and cute little thing... lol

I'm sure she'll enjoy the supers. They taste better than crix anyway in my opinion

Mealworms make a very good staple diet for Leopard Geckos but cricks do to. Most big breeders mainly feed mealies.

I tried them as a staple but my Leopard Geckos hate mealies (at first they liked them but now they dont) and usually turn them down, but they will take supers

    Hello,

Supers would be fine to add to the mix. They are extremely active compared to mealies, so your leo should be drawn to them quickly.

Mealies do make an ok staple, but on the note of nutrients, crickets are better.

Large scale breeders use mealies because they are cost effective, low maintenance, and extremely easy to breed.

I've tried superworms for my leo's and they won't go near them..movement or not. And they're not juvi's, they're about 7 or 8 " long and they still shy away from the superworms.. eat everything else, mind you. Even when they're hungry they keep away.. go figure..

I keep a dish of mealies in my gecko tanks pretty much 24/7. They also get crickets and the occational pinky mouse. I too tried the supers and the geckos immediately went for them, none of them really cared for them though. The supers appeared to curl around and bite their mouths. Then the geckos would shake their heads and drop them, some tried again....most just walked away.

I have heard they are better than mealies because you need fewer of them.
