Couple of things here - firstly, they don't look fertile judging by the pics, but best to make sure. You should be able to check by shining a torch on the egg - fertile eggs will be pinkish, firm and rounded,. infertile will be yellow/clear and will be dented and soft.

You mention not having an egg-laying site - do you not have a moist hide in the enclosure?? This will double up as an egg laying site, and should always be provided.

Also, a few things about your male - did someone mention you've only had him a week? If so, it really is best to consider a quarantine period. Also, how big and old are both your geckos? And, with a male present, you should be prepared for eggs., if not then you really should think about keeping the geckos separate until you are ready to breed them.

Lastly, you need to provide your female with extra calcium right now - although you should have a bowl of calcium in the tank anyway so that she can regulate her own intake,. producing eggs, even infertile ones, takes a lot of calcium and weight from the females, so increase her food and calcium intake and consider removing the male anyway so that he doesn't swamp her with affection so that she continues to lay eggs without a break. Both geckos can miss the chance then to recuperate and gain weight.

I have had the male for a while. I didn't post anything about him until about a month after I had him quarantined. The geckos do have a moist hide usually but I had taken it out the night before so that the geckos would eat all of their food. The Sometimes the crickets hide and avoid getting eaten and they grow their wings and chirp all night long. It makes me crazy! moist hide usually contains only moist splagnum (sp.?) moss. This would be okay for an egg laying medium or should I add soil as well? I do provide calcium powder to my leopard geckos at all times. They lick it right out of their dish.

The moss is fine for a moist box, but you can add other mediums as well if you want. We use damp vermiculite with moss on top, but some people just use moss. I have noted that our females like to dig through the vermiculite under the moss when laying eggs, but try different things.

It's good that your geckos control their intake of calcium. Just bear in mind about separation periods to allow them all to eat and gain weight, so that they are not constantly laying eggs, however, you may find that the females carry on laying eggs anyway - they can lay without being mated with, which ours have just done, prompting us to place them with the male - if they are going to lay eggs they may as well be fertilised in our reckoning. Also remember that the female can store the sperm and lay several clutches from one mating, so even if you take the male out be prepared for further eggs.

Good luck with them.

LOL!I should point out that this is another one of those "international language difference" things!
Rachel's "Torch" is our flashlight.
She is NOT advocating putting flame to the eggs!

I removed the bad egg today. All I needed to do the whole time is gently and very slowly pull the egg and it came of like a piece of scotch tape. The top egg is obviously bad and now the bottom one has a little fuzz starting to grow. I shined a flashlight through the egg that I removed and there are some visible veins within the egg. Does this occur with infertile eggs?

Yes ssativa that occurs in fertile eggs. Don't worry about mold, it shouldn't harm the egg, and even bad eggs will not turn good eggs bad. You should never force eggs apart, but if you can then we prefer to take the bad ones out, although it really doesn't matter if you leave them.

You say that veins occur in fertile eggs, but what I want to know is do they occur in infertile eggs as well?

i wouldnt worry unless they got fungus, i'v had fungus all over mine once, sprayed em with Lotramin then the fungus just came off, the eggs turned pink (all the white stuff came off) but they hatched
geckoguy, in another thread

Are you sure the mold won't hurt them? If your right then I guess I shouldn't try any remedies such as the above.
