my leopard gecko's name is casey and i've had her since the end of november. i estimate she is about a year old. i have fed her almost exclusively mealworms, with some crickets intermittently. she has always been a good eater, up until about a month and a half ago. i was leaving for a month and entrusted my father with her care, and a couple of nights before i left, she refused her mealworms. while i was away my dad bought a different brand of mealworms and she was eating all right from what i heard. when i got back at the end of july, we moved house. she ate a few crickets but then poops seemed to stop appearing in her cage. four or five days ago, i offered her mealworms, which i usually fed her by hand, and she ate none, even when i put them in her bowl. i cleaned her cage entirely today, finding several uneaten mealworms from a few days ago. also there seemed to be hardly any poops. she has not pooped or eaten the mealworms today. she shed yesterday without any problems and ate the skin. she seems to be okay otherwise; her eyes are clear, her skin is normal, she is active, she's been drinking water, and she hasn't lost weight. now i'm leaving for college in four days and i have to leave her with my dad, who is good at lizard care and not the problem at all. my question is: should i call the vet for her disinterest in food? i'm short on money and therefore reluctant, but i don't really have enough time to see if she will eat and continue eating, and i will spend the money if i have to because i care more about lizard than college.
she is in a 10 gallon tank with reptile carpet, a moist hide with moss, a dry hide, a hammock, water, calcium supplement in a bowl, a designated bathroom corner with some paper bedding as litter. i have her light on a timer and i keep an eye on the temperature. the environment has not changed since she was a baby, apart from cleaning regularly.
please excuse my wordiness, lowercase typing, and use of the word "poop." thank you for your help. i will let you know if anything changes before saturday.
