Question

Well iv had my new leopard for about 2 weeks now and I read over the caresheet and noticed I have not left a small dish of pure calcium in there iv just been dusting crickets as normal... So my question for you guys is, What product are you using? Is it store bought from like a drug store or is there a certain product just for leopards?

Thanks in advance

Any of the calcium supplements are okay, just make sure they are pure calcium with nothing added.

Rep-cal calcium with no phosphuros or d3 is what I use. For dusting crickets I use rep-cal calcium with d3 and vit d.

There are certain leo dusts, specifically t-rex leopard gecko dust. I don't prefer to use it as I noticed a change in my leopard's defecation schedule. They seemed to defecate every three to four days and that is what got me to stop using it...

Re: Question

It's not a bad idea to do so
If you are dusting with pure calcium 75% of the time and calcium with vit D the other 25% of the time-you might be able to get by without a dish of calcium in the tank/enclosure
But I am so paranoid of Metabolic Bone Disease that I like to keep a dish of calcium my tubs all of the time
I use cuttle bones for my pure calcium and have been doing so for years now with no problems

just my 2 cents

Sandy

Re: Question

Rep-cal, the pink jar.

Also: D3 and low phosphate for the win.
