Jerri...Male or female?? |
| This is what our member has to say: I know for a fact jerri isnt breeding weight, Oscar wont be sexually mature yet will he, what age do they become sexually mature males?... |

Ahh so its to do with weight more than age, I just found out lol, I will have to get them both weighed....

He's over 6 months isn't he??.. he will definately breed with her, and if she isn't the right size yet you don't want that. Also, judging by his reaction to her the other day he wants to mate with her?
Keep them apart until she is 50g and then get ready for babies
(P.S. we have the car in a couple of weeks - were thinking of popping in to see you, and we can bring the weighing scales?)

No he is only about 5 months and jerri 4 months, so I think its best to keep them seperate for a while longer then, dont want them breeding just yet

Oh no then I would definately keep them apart - wait for about another 6 months. Ours are currently breeding size, but are around 8 months,. because of the quarantine period once we get the male we won't be breeding them for another 2-3 months anyway, so they'll be well over 50g and around a year in age.
