    Calcium Help?

    Ok i have heard that calcium with D3 is bad and some say its good but a little bit but how often?

    i have not gave my Leopard Geckos any yet just to be on the safe side of the D3 thing but give them gut loaded food and wax worm evey now and then.

    i looked today when i was a the loc. petstore and all i saw was stuff with D3
    cause the people there do not know what they are doing.

    pics would be nice of some calcium

    Ex of loc. store(flip the eggs like chicken eyes and give them fruit and greens)

    Re: Calcium Help?

    This was in one of the recent threads and I though it was excellent information;
    This is a quote from one of our members and how she uses it with leopard geckos

    Medium
    I use Zoo Med Repti Calcium with and with out D3...using the D3 once a week. I did use it twice a week but have dropped it to once. I am thinking twice was to much!! Then I use with out D3 twice a week giving them two days off out of the week. I then add once a week Zoo Med Reptivite with out D3.

    Re: Calcium Help?

    You dust your feeders with Calcium with D3 and leave a cap of pure calcium in the cage like a salt lick. You can get pure calcium but may have to order it or use Human calcium from the health food or vitamin section.

    That made no sense. What are you trying to say?

    Re: Calcium Help?

    Depending on where you live, finding pure calcium powders/tablets without a bunch of binding agents is almost impossible. If you track down a local herp vet they can give you pure calcium carbonate in solution... just in case you can't find any powders.
