I have a question about my leopard gecko, we have a male and recently got a female they have been breeding lately and the last time she broke it off and now his penis has been hanging half way out and wont go back in . it seems to bother him. he wont eat , it this normal or what ?

how long has it been out? try soaking him in a lukewarm bath....then try massaging his tail and slightly & carefully bending it up . you may have to pull the vent open a little while doing this.

This worked for one of my males in the same situation.

In some species I know that if males get aggitated enough at their hemi-peni sticking out they wil bite them off. I too reccomended a warm soak and a little massaging.

A prolapsed organ is not something that should be taken lightly. If the hemipene is still prolapsed after a quick soak,I would get to the vet. It will dry out and can become seriously infected. If it does dry out,it will fall off,and become infected....or the vet can amputate it,and give medication.
