One bowel movement a week, need help ASAP!

My leo has only had one bowel movement in the past week. I am using repti-carpet and he is eating regularly. He is about 6 months old. There are no vets even close to here that deal with herps. I need help ASAP!

Hello,
If he is constipated, you will need to give him daily soakings. The water only needs to be as high as the top of his vent. It should be roughly 85 degrees F. That will help loosen him up if he is constipated.

The soakings should last 10-15 minutes and done 2 times a day. If he still doesn't defecate, you should see a vet. 2 weeks without a bowel movement is a sign that something is wrong.

Now Merlin, we all know there is nothing odd about an animal pooping on the bed!
Just like it's normal to spend more on Dinner for six Iguanas than dinner on 2 humans.
Or the fact that my electric bill is three times what my neighbors is.
Or you take an old tv stand out of the trash because one of your tanks will fit on it perfectly.
Or.....well you get the idea.

LOL Jay We were getting excited the other night because we saw one of our Leopard Geckos drink from the water bowl for the first time,.. small things..

Congrats on solving your problem, keep a close eye on his bowel movements, hopefully now he's got over his constipation he'll be fine. What do you feed him? - some food items are harder to digest than others and can cause a blockage.
