So sweet

Oh, he's/she's adorable! I don't know the first thing about geckos, but he does look thin.
I'm sure with regular feedings and lots of your TLC, he'll blossom into a beautiful big beast!!
He and Q both have a long road ahead of them on the "fatten up trail"!!

Good luck with him!

Hello,
For those that are not familiar with leopard geckos, this little guy is very thin. Either the petstore that housed this little guy neglected to feed it, or this little guy has a parasite of some sort. A Leopard Geckos tail should never get that thin.
If you look closely at the picture, the stripe you see down the center of the poor little guys back isn't a stripe at all. That is his spine.
Donna is aware of this already. The little guy is being monitored for food consumption and will be seeing a vet to determine if parasites are present.
Good luck donna, I am sure we will be talking about him frequently.

i think rich is right, it looks VERY thin, i have a petstore like this around here. if youve read any of my past posts from a while ago, about the snakes. their animals are kept in horendous conditions. they house long tailed lizards, anoles (brown/green), and house geckos together, and there are some that you can see their spines and ribcages, even dead ones, some are as long dead that there is nothing but bone with a little skin wrapped around it. the fish and reptile cages are filthy too, and they have their dogs standing on thin steel bars, like in a birdcage so they dont poop on a solid floor, but if you have it on steel bars or a nice solid floor you still have to clean it so why not just make the animals more comfortable. their crix are dry and not gut loaded and they dont quarintine their reptiles at all. errr

but im sure youll fatten it up till its nice and plump and im sure it vwill be very happy living with you

(i apologize for my ranting )

Unfortunately that gecko is horribly thin. Not even any newborns I have seen were that thin!
It's great that you are bringing your leo to a vet! I hope he will be alright!
