Re: Just Got a New Leopard Gecko.

That's really cheap..but I'm in Hamilton, right near Toronto. Stuff is expensive here lol.

But yeah, she ate a lot today, he ate 4 mealies and 3 crickets all dusted with calcium and vitamins, and gut loaded with carrots and celery!

She should start putting on the grams..hopefully.

Also ditched the sand and rock and got repti carpet and an under the tank heater.

Anything else I still need to do?

I do love her.

Edit: Last night at 11:30 she finally ate a lot at once, I put five crickets in her tank and she ate em all in 5 minutes.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Now get a digi-thermometer so you know what the actual temps are. Without the proper temps, they can't digest properly and all those foods you are giving her will be useless!

Re: Just Got a New Leopard Gecko.

Well Ive got a bud who has maybe 5-6 spare tanks(quite the reptile fan), hes giving me a 25 gallon for free.

He said I could house a plated lizard, or collard with my leo, would their be any reasons not to house them together?

This is because I'm going to an expo in Mississauga in February and really would like to pick up a collard or plated.

Also I bought a thermometer, just heading to the dollar store to pick up some batteries lol.

Sorry but your "bud" is most definitely WRONG!
You should not mix species and definitely not species from different parts of the world and different requirements! A Collared and a plated will get far bigger than a Leo and a 25 gallon tank is nowhere big enough for either ONE of the two.
Besides a collared lizard will eat other lizards.

Those lizards all have extremely different needs and no way should be housed together! Just as a start Leopard Geckos need a moist hide while moisture can give uros fatal respiratory infections, uros need a higher temperature than Leopard Geckos, collards will eat other lizards, the list goes on and on. I wouldn't recommend getting reptile advice from this friend.
