Just a few questions how do you measure the temperature?? and how are you heating it besides the light?

If the temps are where they should be the light is fine, a light alone is all I used awhile back.

Great pics! Your leo is such a sweetie! - more pics more pics!!! Your enclosure is lovely., I don't see anything that could be improved, and a light is fine as the only heating source. All we use is a light, and with anything else the temps would be way too high. Just to check - do you have a small bowl of calcium in there for the gecko?

Thanks for sharing. Lovely photos

I thought it was best to use a Under Tank Heater and a Low wattage incandescent bulb? and do Leopard Geckos really need a basking spot? I know my Under Tank Heater gets pretty hot and im gonna fix that this week with a rheostat. My house isnt that warm thats why I opted for the Under Tank Heater. and use a 40 watt incandescent bulb during the day.

They don't need a Under Tank Heater and a bulb - it depends on your personal preference and how warm one medium makes it. For our 2 albino x tang ct we have a glass tank and a 40-50w bulb keeps it at the perfect temp. For our bilzzard, who is currently in a plastic box, we cannot use a bulb, and a Under Tank Heater keeps it at the right temps too. You can use whichever heating device you feel most comfortable with, and whichever keeps the temps right.

I have an Under Tank Heater which covers half of my large tank and I also have a bulb on a thermostat just to make sure they are warm enough though the day. In my little tank I just have a 40 W bulb which is on 24/7 and a UV light that comes on during the day so that I can see them.

Froim what I hear is that people usually use a bulb for day and while it gets cooler at night they use a Under Tank Heater. Also vice versa. Bitis is right, it's your personal preference. As long as the items you're using are safe and effective it should be fine.

Though some times during when it's cold people use bulbs and Under Tank Heater's.
