Heating

I have noticed lately that both of my Leopard Geckos arent active at all they stay on the warm end of the tank. any suggestions on how to make them come out specially at night and roam around.

Just out of curiosity I stuck my digital thermometer on top of the Under Tank Heater and it registered at 100 degrees and the ambient temps are 75 warm end and 70 cool end. i think this may be due to pebbles who I measured being near a window thats kinda drafty. Im going to remedy the situation shortly and will report back.

But autumn who is on the other side of the room is still equally inactive with the exact same setup???

75 on the warm end is not enough for Leopard Geckos. If your'e using a Under Tank Heater and thats your high range temp I would add an overhead light to increase the temps. We us a basking lamp by day and a red nightlight for evenings. Temps in the warm end stay 90-95 day/80-85 night and both Leopard Geckos are very active

well that 75 is without a light seeing how its nighttime, plus I have since moved pebbles away from the window that she was near. Ill check the temps again and report back

It needs to be at least 87* on the warm end, and atleast 80* on the cool end. It shouldn't go lower than that. But if your like me, your having trouble with heating, and the warm side will be at 90, but since its a Under Tank Heater the cool side is at 75 due to cold weather, and thats where the humid hide is, and one of my geckos doesn't come out of it, and its too crammed to put 2 hides on the warm side, so....arg....im getting a new tank for christmas.

yeah I think the only reason why they're inactive is due to the temperatures. I invested in an Under Tank Heater not so long ago. I don't have to worry about turning the light and on, they have natural light from my window. Sometimes I forget I have one, because its so convient.
