Hey, let's have a little empathy for the crickets! It's not their fault they get hungry and are left with no other option but to eat the animal their meant to feed.

i always have a small square of apple or potato for the crix to munch on so my Leopard Geckos doesn't get bitten

Don't ever leave uneaten crickets with your leo. It makes them very uncomfortable, and believe it or not, sooner or later, your leo would be missing some toes! It's on a cricket's menu....
