Light Hoods

Well I just got a 36" tube for growing some plants in my leopard gecko tank, but I don't have a hood yet and was wondering if there is anything else I can use other than those black plastic ones that you would find at petco because I realy hate the look of them?

Re: Light Hoods

Since you don't need the UVB, you could just get a regular light fixture from Lowes or Home Depot and set it on top of the screen lid. Actually when I set up my Crested Geckos tank I just got a pretty fixture that isn't even a tube and attached it to the side of the cabinet that the tank is sitting in.

Re: Light Hoods

I beleive he is asking about a fixture for the growlight.
Yes you can use any standard fixture that fits the bulb. Go to Home Depot, Lowes etc and get one much cheaper than at a pet store.
