Temperature
well on my warm side of my tank I have a heat pad and a red heat bulb. I just got my new digital therm from home depot and I attached the sensor to the glass on the bottom right above the heat pad. It is showing 120 degrees! above the glass I have repticarpet, any suggestion would be appreciated.

Re: Temperature
why would you attach it to the glass? put it on the repti carpet where the leo sits.

Re: Temperature
If you have no where to put the sensor that is out of the way, you do not have to keep it in there at all times. Many people use the temp guns and just spot check the tank on a regular basis...you could do the same with your digital therm!

Re: Temperature
Run the wire down the corner of the tank and across the floor to the spot where you want it. You can secure the wire into the corner with a couple of peices of velcro.

Re: Temperature
The easiest way would most likely be either a smaller under the tank heater, or a lower wattage bulb.
I personaly however use the $1.49 extension cords and A $5 wall dimmer from home depot, you can attach it up and have a good dimmer that you can plug into any light, You still have to monitor the temps on the tank, but you can raise or lower it until the desired temps are acheived. I use one on my wall geckos tank to keep the temps high enough in the winter and low enough in he summer, while still providing a good photoperiod.

Re: Temperature
I already have a small under the tank heater and the bulb isn't that warm, it's mainly for viewing. I think the under tank heater is making it so hot though.

Re: Temperature
if the light is too warm, consider replacing with a compact fluorescent bulb. They produce almost no heat.
